Castelló de la Plana is the capital city of the Castellón province which is found in the Valencian Community of Spain. As the fourth most populated city in the Valencian Community, Castelló de la Plana has a population of 170,888. The city is the economic and social centre for the Castellón province. Its local economy relies largely upon industry, tourism and craft work. Castelló de la Plana is famous for its music festivals, with Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB) to name just one.

Castelló de la Plana’s efforts are currently focused on systemic changes in the organisation of buildings, energy networks and transport. 2016 – 2022 is central to Castelló de la Plana’s movements. With nature-based solutions like green corridors connecting the city for issues such as heat stress and densification, the ultimate vision is to have a green city with high quality living environment for all by 2050.
